The 83rd Annual Academy Awards (Oscar) has been celebrated yesterday (27th Feb) with full of joy and excitement. Yesterday, Staten Island’s PS 22 (Public school) Chorus performed on the Oscar red Carpet. They were received personal invitation to perform at the Oscars 2011 from Oscar co-host Anne Hathaway. Image source: www.nydailynews.com On Thursday night (24th Feb), Cohen and Oscar co-host Anne Hathaway went at the children’s annual winter program as judges of the program and gave surprise the chorus members and their families with the news of Oscar performance. From last few years, PS 22 has raised popularity by posting video on YouTube and getting millions and millions of views from singing great hitsby Lady GaGa, Journey, Coldplay, Leona Lewis, and plenty more. The host of “Oscar’s Red Carpet Live”, Ms. Roberts was clearly taken with the Staten Island youngsters and director of PS 22. Gregg Breinberg is the teachers of the PS 22 Chorus. He told Ms. Roberts "I can never dream this is possible. But it shows hard work can make anything possible." He also noted, “They get the reaction from the audience because they give it all they got." Third-grade instructor Anita Lisnow of Great Kills was cried When She looked the children interviewed in national TV. Some of them had passed from her classroom before two years. After this interview, fifth grade Instructor Ashley Bulko of Pleasant Plains spoke to some of the children on the phone. Ms. Bulko said, “The children practiced in front of Gwenyth Paltrow, Mandy Moore and Jimmy Kimmell”. All grade instructor feel proudly for PS22 Chorus performance. |
