Pamela Anderson made a public plea to Prime Minister Stephen Harper yesterday to cancel this year's East Coast seal hunt. The former Baywatch star and Ladysmith native organized a media event where she sent a 50,000-signature petition to Ottawa calling for an end to what the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals refers to as "the annual massacre" of seals in Canada. Anderson cited new data showing ice levels at a 30-year low on the Gulf of St. Lawrence. |
