President-elect Barack Obama asked Americans
to honor the nation's servicemen and
women this holiday season.

In his weekly address,
Obama also urged Americans to remember those
who have been affected by
the nation's economic downturn.

He said, quote,
"we must all do our part to serve one another;
to seek new idea and new innovation;
and to start a new chapter for our great country."

The President-elect said he is confident
if the American people work toward a common cause,
jobs can be regained and
the nation can move in a new direction.
