Matthew Vaughn finds American Jesus

Working on Kick-Ass must’ve been fun for Matthew Vaughn – he’s considering reteaming with Mark Millar to adapt his comic book American Jesus.

Originally published as a three-issue series called Chosen in 2006, the book finds Jesus returning in the modern world to battle with the antichrist to save humanity. So, small topics, then.

The pair is already busily trying to work up another action film, which will fight with Jesus (no pun intended) for space on their development schedule.

Oh, and, because it’ll push a few buttons, the movie will likely have to be independently financed, much like Kick-Ass.
