Comic-Con 09: Zemeckis talks Roger Rabbit 2

Posted By totalfilm.com on Jul 23, 2009   FROM: imdb.com report abuse

You knew it was going to happen: Robert Zemeckis faced 6,000 Hall H attendees and someone asked the Roger Rabbit question.

When the panel opened up to questions, among the earliest was from a fan who wanted to know whether Zemeckis would ever make a sequel to his live-action 'toon blend.

He was as cagey as ever - "I can neither confirm nor deny whether something like that is happening," he said at first, but then spilled a telling detail.

Yes, though he's famously pushing the 3D angle these days, Zemeckis is very clear about how he'd theoretically tackle such a pic.

I will tell you this - if that ever does happen, the 2D animated characters will remain 2D. They will not be dimensionalized, but that doesn't mean other parts won't be in 3D."

Nice to see he's keeping things traditional, but we're still not sure the sequel ever will - or should - happen...

What do you think? Will we ever see Roger 2?
