Christian Bale joins Prisoners

Lock up your cinematographers… Christian Bale may have found his next project, as he’s attached himself to thriller script Prisoners.

The Aaron Guzikowki script, which already boasts Mark Wahlberg, is being touted around town and also boasts interest from Bryan Singer.

So what’s got them all excited? Seems it follows a kidnapping in which a man’s 6–year-old daughter and her friend are snatched in a small town. The father – a deer hunting, survivalist carpenter (you can just see Bale growing a bushy beard for this one) wants to get proactive, hunting down and torturing the man he thinks is responsible.

He butts heads with a cop – possibly Wahlberg – who is desperate to get back to his usual city beat.

It’s apparently a dark little tale, and doesn’t yet have funding in place. Watch this space…

Which role should Bale snatch? Can you see him as a survivalist? Or should he be the cop? Speak out!
