Charisma Carpenter added to The Expendables

Charisma Carpenter – a regular on Joss Whedon’s Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel – has been cast in The Expendables.

Just what is it with Sly Stallone and former Buffy/Angel actresses? First he has Julie Benz in Rambo, now we get the artist formerly known as Cordelia cropping in his latest.

She’ll add a nice level of oestrogen to the testosterone heavy cast, which includes Jason Statham, Jet Li Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke and Eric Roberts.

In case you’re wondering, we doubt she gets to do much action work – Carpenter will be playing Jason Statham’s girlfriend.

She sort of reminds us of someone… Oh, yeah: let’s hope he doesn’t have nasty flashbacks to Kelly Brook.

While the movie still lacks a distribution deal, Stallone is cracking on with shooting in Costa Rica and Louisiana.
