Bridget Jones will return

Posted By totalfilm.com on Jul 14, 2009   FROM: imdb.com report abuse

Looks like Britain’s best-known singleton will be back for another round of wine-quaffing and panicking about life.

Production company Working Title has confirmed that it’s busy developing a third outing for Bridget and co, which will most likely channel Helen Fielding’s columns on Bridget desperately trying to have a baby.

Of course, all of that is speculation as the film isn’t planned to shoot until late next year and doesn’t even have a script yet.

The one thing Working Title is counting on is Renee Zellweger returning to the lead.

It could do with a hit after the sub-par performance of Richard Curtis’ The Boat That Rocked – and hoping Cate Blanchett will also help.

She’s just sealed a deal to star as Lady Edwina Mountbatten in Joe Wright’s Indian Summer, based on Alex von Tunzelmann’s book.

William Nicholson is adapting the hefty tome, which charts the last days of Britain’s rule in India in 1947.

Do you want a new Bridget Jones? Or was two more than enough?
