List of Michael Jackson memorial ticket winners
Michael Jackson’s memorial service is being held on Tuesday July 7th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. After announcement of this news, millions of fans had the chance to get their hands on tickets to the memorial, through a funeral ticket lottery system.
More than 1.6 million people had registered for tickets to the memorial and fans looked to the internet on Sunday whether they were among the lucky few to win access to Michael Jackson's memorial service. Fans registered online for free in the random drawing of only 8,750 names. Each person selected will receive two tickets. The odds of getting a ticket were about 1 in 183.
The tickets are being distributed by Lottery method and winners will receive a code and instructions on how to pick up their tickets on Monday. They will be issued with a wristband to be worn to the service on Tuesday morning to prevent ticket scalping and fans must come with both the tickets and wristbands. ET confirms that ticket winners received vouchers from Ticket master through e-mail and they were given instruction to pick up their tickets on Monday June 6 at Dodger Stadium. Some fans had already scored tickets and they are taken to blogging site, Twitter to announce their good fortune regarding tickets.
The tickets will admit 11,000 people to the Staples Center plus 6,500 in the Nokia Theater overflow section at the next door. The police told on Sunday that streets around the stadium will be closed to prevent those persons without tickets from trying to attend.
