Actress Maura Tierney to Have Breast Tumor Surgery

The 44 year old ER star Maura Tierney was having a health issue for long time. She has a breast tumor, and she will undergo surgery to remove a breast tumor.  NBC's new fall drama series “Parenthood” has been pushed back by eight weeks as actress Tierney will undergo surgery soon.

She said in her statement, "I have discovered a tumor in my breast which requires surgery," She also added, “I will not know either my exact diagnosis or course of treatment until that surgery is performed. I'm very optimistic as to the outcome and want to thank everyone who has sent positive thoughts and support. I look forward to going back to work soon." Tierney's doctor said, “this is a very treatable condition,” and she’s “very confident as to the outcome.”

Maura Tierney is best known of her role as Dr. Abby Lockhart on medical drama series, “ER”, and won Emmy Award for this role. This series was ended in March. Maura Tierney has also featured in the movie like, "Liar Liar," with Jim Carrey in which she played as Jim Carrey’s wife and last year she has appeared in comedy movie, “Baby Mama.”
