Joy Behar & Marilu Henner to Judge in Miss America 2011

The 2011 Miss America pageant will be held on Saturday, 15 January 2011 and telecasted live on ABC at 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET from Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Seven people are set to judge the 2011 Miss America pageant. A 52-year-old actress, Marilu Henner, known for films such as "Taxi" and "L.A. Story", is one of the notable seven judges. "The View" host Joy Behar, "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry, Miss America 1990 Dr. Debbye Turner Bell, country singer Mark Wills, footwear designer Taryn Rose, and "Dancing with the Stars" pro dancer Tony Dovolani are the other six judges.

For 90th Miss America pageant, Judges are selected on the basis of their expertise in a wide range of areas within the entertainment field, such as fashion, musical talent and more. Joy Behar will select the 2011 Miss America from the field of interview, Miss America 1990 Dr. Debbye Turner Bell from the field of community service/instrumental talent, and Marc Cherry, from the field of star power. Tony Dovolani will select the 2011 Miss America from the field of fitness/dance, Marilu Henner from the field of health and beauty, Taryn Rose from the field of fashion, and Mark Wills from the field of vocal talent.

Previous to this, Miss America pageant was telecasted in 2004 at a network television, but after that, it was declined as following record-low ratings by ABC. First Miss America pageant was held in 1921. In this pageant, winners are selected on the basis of their look in swimsuits, evening wear on stage, their answers given in pre-recorded personal interviews and in response to a question asked during the live show. An added talent portion is featured in Miss America; all contestants perform with their talent such as juggling routines, dancing & singing and judged by judges.
