
The last time Jon Stewart had Bruce Springsteen on his program, the host of Comedy Central's "Daily Show" told the Boss that as a struggling comic, Stewart kept his spirits up with Springsteen songs that taught him "the concept of 'the other side' " -- the idea that with hard work and a good attitude, things may turn out all right. The New Jersey-born comedian obviously made it. And now, as the Stewart-hosted "Stand Up for Heroes" event helps kick off the seventh annual New York Comedy Festival on Nov. 3, one of the city's funniest people does more than just lampoon our ever-lampoonable times.
