Price Of Beauty star Jessica Simpson has been criticised after claiming she only brushes her teeth three times a week. The 29-year-old was recently interviewed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she revealed her brushing habits. However, New York-based cosmetic dentist Dr Laura Torrado has said to UsMagazine.com that if she stops brushing regularly then 'bacteria will slowly start to colonise and reproduce'. She added that a film of plaque could 'physically injure gums and promote bone loss'. She said: 'There will be an abundance of volatile sulfur compounds - the stuff that produces foul bad breath.' The doctor also said she could pass on germs to whoever she kisses. She said: 'Bacteria specific to periodontal disease will be passed on to whoever she comes in contact with. By now, not brushing your teeth will not only hurt you, but anybody that tries to get physically close to you!' |
