How to rip|convert|import DVD videos(VOB files) to Adobe Premiere Pro on Mac?

I have a DVD brought from my holiday and I really would like to import the DVD videos(VOB.files) into Adobe Premiere Pro to change some parts without losing a quality. Some body recommends me to copy the VOBs to HD and change their name from *.VOB to *.MPG. However, when I did what he said, I still can't import this clip. Message says: "File format not supported". Am I doing something wrong? I don't know.(http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/857081)
