The rumor bucket is a new ongoing feature in which we scour the Internets for any potentially true rumors about games and compile them into one article, and to kick start our new regular feature we include rumors about Final Fantasy XIII and Heroes the game, read more after the jump.

Final Fantasy XIII

Everyone know about Final Fantasy XIII, it’s probably one of the most anticipated games to be coming in 2009. Not so fast it seems as if the game will most likely see the U.S. shores sometime in 2010. Square Enix has announced it will release in Japan Holiday 2009. However the U.S. release is scheduled to arrive sometime in 2010, anytime during summer or possibly even 2010 Holiday season. As for the announced Xbox 360 version that made headlines during E308 no announcement has been made of the release date.

EA Mixed Martial Arts?

We all know how EA loves sports games and owning the license to exclusively make them. There is a rumor out there that it appears as if EA is working on a Mixed Martial Arts game. No details have been le@ked about the game as of yet, but we’re wondering how EA will do it considering THQ holds the lincense for UFC. We’ll bring you more as we get any details on this.

Heroes

Due to the shows declining popularity on the NBC Network, Ubisoft has decided to drop the project of a Heroes game being developed. You will not get a chance to play with 15 plus different characters from the show as we all would have predicted. Does this mean no more Heroes as a whole?

Grand Theft Auto IV

Rumor has it, GTA IV Episodic Content could run as much as 1600 Microsoft Points when it’s released next year. The Lost and Damned DLC has been announced to release sometime in January. As far as the DLC some details were given by Rockstar. “Making these episodes has enabled us to expand the narrative and the experience of interacting with a game world in really innovative ways,” said Rockstar’s Sam Houser. “We hope fans of the game enjoy the new way of experiencing life in Liberty City contained in this first episode.”

Electronic Arts Possible Cut

There are rumors that due to the economic crisis and also from poor acceptance of past Need for Speed Games [from gamers] and lacking sales figures, EA is considering canceling one of the two planned development studios, or even worse, closing the franchises entirely. What has also been said is that EA plans to give Criterion the rights to develop future NFS titles. Although nothing has been officially confirmed at the moment.
