Here are my picks for the best games of the year. Each and every one of these games was so good that they could all easily be picks for game of the year.It’s a reminder that 2008 was one of the best years we’ve ever had in the video game business.

1. Gears of War 2
(Xbox 360) Microsoft / Epic Games, in November 2008. It is perhaps not surprising that my favorite game of the holiday is also my favorite game of the year. Epic livened up the dark and murky world of the previous games with more vivid colors, only to invest a large part of the effort deep underground.
If video got Oscar, would win for best art direction. While the first game was dark and gloomy in his description of a world of destroyed beauty, this place has brilliant colors and sharper lines. Flamethrowers, big bosses, and swarms of enemies and make this a more exciting and challenging. There is nothing as visceral as using a chainsaw oils bayonet to share your enemies in half.And of all the games I played or shown at E3, I sit with a longer.
2. Star Wars

This game has a lot going for it. It has a fantastic story, explaining how the insurgency began after the end of Episode III, and before the start of Episode IV.I that moral dilemma as protagonist faces.
You start as an apprentice to the evil Darth Vader in the beginning of the rebellion against the Galactic Empire after the end of Episode III film.Use strength to pick up a Storm Trooper and the bad guy to hang on something for Dear life.
The game also uses two innovations to provide power to life as never before.
3. Call of Duty
(PC, Xbox 360, PS 3, Wii) Activision / Treyarch, fall 2008. This uses the same graphics engine as last year's Call of Duty 4.The Japanese rivals make hard, with everything from ambushes to suicide attacks.
It take place in the Pacific Theater and establish all the elements of a strong competitive war jungle warfare with realistic foliage and flamethrowers.
What I like about this is that although it was not made of star developer Infinity Ward, still short of the franchise agreement reputation and not feel that a follow-up product.
4. Wii Fit
(Nintendo Wii) Nintendo. May, 2008. This game has players from their couches and run around in circles, jumping up and down and try to keep balance.
The game came with the Wii Balance Board, an ingenious device which was nothing more than a scale with a lot of springs under it.Nintendo made fun of practice to get players to block soccer balls, visit a balancing act and playing with a Hula Hoop .
It is not surprising that Wii Fit is on track to sell 10 million copies.
5. Resistance 2
(PS 3) Sony / Insomniac Games, in November 2008. This first-person shooter is a great improvement over the original 2006 game in almost every Crusader way.This a man has to take down as many of the foreign Chimera before collapsing.
This game has almost no learning curve and make it available to young children and adults who have no rhythm and no idea how to play a instrument.
The game has great graphics and a host of enemies who are difficult to take down, even with a wide range of options weapons. But it ultimately does not live up to fight the intensity of Gears of War 2.
6.Grand Theft Auto IV
(Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 3) Take-Two Interactive / Rockstar Games. April, 2008.GTA IV took gritty realism of street crime and a living world in a new level.
You can freeze time for as long as you do in this role-play. Much like last year's Mass Effect, you can then select the actions that your character will take to make it through an almost impossible firefight.
The game set against the background of nuclear devastation.If you liked last year's surprise from Bioshock, this is one of the creators of Oblivion will suit you fine.
7. Metal Gear Solid 4
Guns of blues (PlayStation 3) Konami, June 2008.This game took realistic 3-D animation is the greatest height in a video game.

8. Mario Kart Wii
(Nintendo Wii) Nintendo. April, 2008. There is not very sophisticated chatter I can say about this classic Nintendo game characters.This game has a lot going for it.
It has a fantastic story, explaining how the insurgency began after the end of Episode III, and before the start of Episode IV.
On top of that the game has great graphics and physics, which allows you to use "The Force" in the way George Lucas on it.
You can record up to 12 players and battle online using Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
9. Fallout 3
PC, Xbox 360, PS 3) Bethesda Softworks, in October. 2008.You can freeze time for as long as you do in this role-play set in game.
This destruction of a nuked the United States has an important reminder for the players: you can always find humor in some hard situation.
There are funny 1950-style advertisements for bomb shelters and hauntingly innocent music that reminds me of the conflation of merry music and graphics nightmare in BioShock. The case is not nearly as stupid as Bioshock, but it is still fun to look at the plans, the Board in a tight situation .

I neglected to include this in my top 10 games on vacation, but better late than never recognition.
You can solve them with violence or you can use your pet dog to get you out of them, but you will regret it if you let Rover die.
