Betsy McCaughey Fired on The Daily Show

Betsy McCaughey was republican governor of George Pataki. She has also provided commentary on United States constitutional law and healthcare policy. She has resigned from her position as the member of board of directors of Cantel Medical Corporation. She resigned just after a day from her controversial appearance on the “Daily Show". She made an appearance on “The Daily Show” on August 20th, 2009 in a two part of interview with host Jon Stewart, McCaughey was challenged by the Jon Stewart about her positions on health care reform legislation.

Cantel Medical Corporation also announced that Ms. McCaughey, who had served as a director since 2005, stated that she was resigning to avoid any appearance of a disagreement of interest during the national debate over healthcare reform. McCaughey is chairman of the Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths and a former lieutenant governor of New York State.

According to the reporter, a statement concerning her resignation was released by Cantel Medical.
