Nicholas Conard and his team of archaeologists have made a remarkable discovery in the field of music by unearthing a flute that is about 35,000 years old. Touted as the oldest handcrafted musical instrument, the flute had to be assembled from 12 pieces of griffon vulture bone scattered in a small plot of the Hohle Fels cave, in southern Germany.
