World's most expensive golf course is planned to be build in the Maldives islands in the Indian Ocean by Dutch Docklands. $500 million dollar golf resort is scheduled to be open in 2015. From the Malé International Airport the golf course will be only 5 mins away. Dutch Docklands will open this most expensive golf course with the help from Troon Golf and Waterstudio.NL. 3 companies will design the course together. Image source: the-master-g.blogspot.com Waterstudio.NL will design the entire project, Dutch Docklands will engineer the course while Troon Golf will look after setting out the course. This Golf course will feature a number of floating mini islands and each floating island has 2 or 3 holes. These floating islands would be connected to the underwater tunnels to form 18-hole Golf Course. For the convenience of visitors floating mini islands will be also connected to the mainland and surrounding hotels which will ignore the golf course and surrounding coral reefs. The project will be powered by solar energy with sustainable desalination and water cooling techniques so it will have zero footprints on its environment. It will work in co-operation with the Maldives' rising sea levels. Till now there is no information about how much 18 holes will cost. |
