Life-size balloon models of dinosaurs are created by Mark Verge. Life-size balloon models of dinosaurs are the result of Mark’s balloon-twisting talent that has been used with an enthusiasm. Mark Verge is 43 years old and lives in Ontario, Canada. He got a book on making balloon models and begun working with balloons in 1995. He can create complex sculptures with the use of thousands of balloons after 16 years of practice. These hot-air balloon masterpieces are created with his developed technique and use of various different-sized balloons. Mark Verge has a passion to collect fossils that inspires him to make life-size models of dinosaurs. At present Mark has a collection of balloon dinosaurs, such as an utahraptor created from 200 balloons, a stegosaurus and triceratops created from 700 balloons, and a spinosaurus created from 800 balloons. He has done a most impressive work by creating a 39-foot model of a T-Rex with the use of 1,400 balloons. Mark Verge took 55 hours to make this dinosaur. As per Mr. Verge, he actually appreciated his job and has made other balloon sculptures, such as knights, dragons, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, scuba divers, and Disney characters. The size of balloon models of dinosaurs was very difficult to display. He was awarded with the first place title in the World Balloon Sculpture Competition three times, in 2000, 2002 and 2007. He provides a full-scale Harley Davison that is made totally from balloons at corporate functions. |
