Fiber-glass crash helmet for a shell

Timmy, a giant tortoise, received a blow loosing some part of the shell while fighting a fellow turtle at the Paignton Zoo, in Devon. Vets then filled that gap with a fiber-glass ‘crash helmet’ so as to keep it clean and protected during the slow healing process, approximately 18 months.
