Connie Culp was the first lady to receive a face transplant in the US.
Connie was shot in the face by a shotgun which left massive damage to her face. The face transplant took place at the Cleveland Clinic took twenty two hours to complete.
During the procedure doctors took the face off of a deceased donor and transplanted it on to Connie Culp face.
Before the operation Culp was unable to breathe, eat and feared leaving her home due to the amount of teasing she received.
