The largest Christmas parade between Washington and Atlanta, Annual Raleigh Christmas Parade 2010 was taken place at 9:30 am Saturday, November 20th 2010. The parade was sponsored by Greater Raleigh Merchants Association. Since 1944, the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association has presented the annual Raleigh Christmas Parade which is a largest single-day event in Raleigh. About 1.4 miles parade takes 2.5 hours to finish. The parade Annual Raleigh Christmas Parade is observed with full of stunning costumes and attractive holiday cheer such as bands, twirlers, floats and more. Current year, the parade was held on November 20th. The parade kicked off from Hillsborough Street and St. Mary’s streets at 9:30 a.m. The parade traveled east on Hillsborough Street and turned in south track at the State Capitol building onto Salisbury Street, after that east on Morgan Street and ended at 12.00 pm in Fayetteville Street and Lenoir streets. More than fifty thousands people took part in the 66th annual WRAL-TV Raleigh Christmas Parade. The parade was broadcasted live on WRAL-TV and WRAL.com from 10 a.m. to noon on November 20 and it will be also repeated at 4 p.m. on Christmas Day. This year, first time WRAL.com has presented a live video stream of parade from Santa's float as well as the television broadcast. The anchors of WRAL-TV morning news, Bill Leslie and Kelcey Carlson hosted the parade among with WRAL's traffic reporter Brian Shrader who appeared as street-side reporter. Jason Michael Carroll who is Chart-topping country music star has appeared as grand marshal in parade. Over 100 entries was included in the parade such as fantastic floats, bands, super-sized balloons, twirlers, marchers, entertainers, and a special surprise North Pole visitor at the end of the parade.
