650-lb virgin David Smith

David Smith had disclosed his fighting with his obesity and how he got the slim personality on a TLC documentary on Sunday 12 July, which was called as “The 650 pound virgin”. It is about Smith’s journey in which he had battled with obesity.

David Smith was obese enormously; he had no friend so he had given up on himself and on life. His weight was 650 lb; due to his obesity he made a plan to end his life, in Arizona desert he got an inflatable swimming pool; he filled it with gasoline, entered it and light a match. Smith thought that he deserved this kind of painful and horrific way to die and the fire would consume his 650-pound body.

Smith, in just 26 months lost more than 400 pounds without gastric bypass surgery. Smith is 32 years old; he said that he was fighting to get over his shyness and fear of rejection from women.

When he was considering suicide, he discovered that there is a hope in his life to transform himself, then he decided to lose weight. But he rejected bypass surgery. He had the alternative and it was to learn to do exercise and eat properly for the weight off.

Smith contacted KTVK, a local television station at which fitness and nutrition guru Chris Powell had hosted a feature. Powell took Smith on, after some initial hesitation. Powell told Lauer that he had no idea how to help somebody who was so large.

Powell went to work on the STAX System, in starting Smith could not fit in a car and could not walk 500 feet. Then Powell start his alternated diet plans, Smith could not eat his beloved foods ever, like pizza, ice cream and the other calorie-laden foods. Powell treated him like a child, if one day he would diet strictly, then he was rewarded next day.

Due to these diet plans, the weight melted off in a month he loosed more than 15 pounds. After 26 months he had lost 410 pounds from his weight of 650 pound. Great folds and bags of excess skin was the problem after weight loss, so surgeon had removed some 30 pounds of excess skin by a series of operations.
