Recently, Archaeologists in China have discovered a 2,400-year-old bowl of bone-soup, sealed in a bronze cooking vessel while cleaning up an ancient tomb, near China's earlier capital Xian. In the history, it’s the first time that a soup bowl is established with liquid and animal bones still in the interior.

Liu Daiyun, who found the bronze cauldron whole with animal bones floating in the olden broth, is assumed to be a low-ranking military officer near the ancient city of Xi’an. An important role will be played by the new discovery in examining eating habits and culture of the Warring States Period (475-221BC). To a laboratory the relic has been sent, at which scientists will try to verify about the composition of liquid and to what animals the bones belong.

The height and width of the vessel is 20 centimeters tall and 24.5 centimeters in diameter and with a green film bronze due to natural oxidation the surface of the soup was covered. The bones emerge green because of being immersed in the patina as per the Global Times. On Saturday, the Shaanxi-based Chinese Business View reported that the bronze vessel is identified through historical documents as a container that was used for cooking and serving meat.

According to the report, another bronze pot was also dug by Archaeologists which contained an odorless liquid supposed to be wine in the tomb that might belong to a member of the land-owning class or a military officer.
