$11 Million Christmas Tree at Abu Dhabi

The $11 million Christmas Tree erected in the lobby of the Emirates Palace hotel in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi. This tree is over 42 foot tall and adorned with silver and gold bows, small white lights and ball-shaped ornaments. With 181 diamonds, pearls, emeralds, sapphires and other previous stones its branches are wrapped. The cost of the ornaments alone is estimated among 36,000 dirhams ($9,800) and 3.5 million dirhams.

This special Christmas tree decoration is incredibly exclusive as it’s decorated with real gold, and jewels, sponsored by Style Gallery. The lobby is decorated with real gold leafs at where the $11 million Christmas tree is kept and to monitor the precious tree there is 24 hours close security camera and four security. The tree is meant to astonish international travelers even though Abu Dhabi is part of the United Arab Emirates, a Muslim country. Hans Olbertz, the hotel’s general manager said at an opening event Wednesday that “It’s an artificial tree, but the jewelry—that’s not artificial.”

This year The Emirates Palace has gold bar vending machine and it also offers $1 million seven-day package that consist of a private butler, chauffeur-driven Maybach luxury car, private jet, and other amenities. Business Traveller Middle East magazine awarded The Emirates Palace as the "Best Business Hotel in Abu Dhabi.” In the Guinness Book of World Records, The Emirates Palace hotel hopes to register the tree and presently the Guinness web site lists the most luxurious tree as a $10.8 million tree put in 2002 in Toyko with 83 pieces of jewelry from Piaget Japan.
