Sixth Pay Commision Revised Government Staff

Chief minister M. Karunanidhi has approved the revised pay scales for State Government Employees-Chennai.

Categories who are going to avail the Sixth Pay Commision

·         State government current Employees

·         Pensioners

·         Family Pensioners

When will start?

-           From Jun 2009.

What wil be revised?

-          While talking to Reportes Finance Secretary K. Gnanadesican said

1.       The wages will be increased to 30% to revision

2.       The Allowences will be doubled among other things.

How many people benefited?

The new pay scale would benefit around 12 lakh people including

-          Noon-meal  scheme workers

-          Those worked in local bodies.

From which date implemented?

-          January 1 2006 notionally

-          And January 1 2007 monetory.

How much government expenditure?

-          Rs 5,155.79 crore per annum.

-          And 11,093 for arrears.

Kudos- Do India has any recession ?

The arrears will be paid in three equal annual installment in 2009-2010. The first will be paid with January salary. Existing HRA, CCA and other allowances will be revised and implemented from June. This is governments Pay Scale to Pay Scale basis.
