NIT: National Institute of Technology
The NIT Jalandhar was established in the year 1987 as Regional Engineering College. The Institute is also known as Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology.
Jalandhar is still the youngest amongst the eighteen NITs of the country. The Nit has been given the status of National Institute of Technology by the Government of India under the control of Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi.

The NIT Jalandhar bachelor degree Program admission based on a all India level entrance test, known as the All India Engineering Entrance Examination AIEEE. And the Masters Degree Program admission based on Gate Exam which is conducted by the IITs and IISc.
The NIT Jalandar Provides Many facilities of central seminar hall, computer lab, gymnasium, open air theater, library and security services. It also Provide separate hostel facilities for girls and boys.

Jalandhar university invited for the for the admission to the following Ph D, M Tech and M Sc programs for the academic session 2009-2010.
The Application Form filled accompanied by self-attested Photostat copies of the relevant certificates/testimonials, along with a crossed demand draft of Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for SC/ST candidates) towards application fee drawn in favor of Director, Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar payable at Jalandhar.
