Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority is head of public body represented under MHAD ACT 1976. It was established in 1977 under Housing Department Government of Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) plans to celebrate its golden jubilee and therefore it has decides to extend housing opportunities to the resident of Maharashtra. MHADA renewed auction of 3,863 flats in Mumbai for that MHADA received over 4.31 lakh applications. For every flat there are 111 applicants. About 5,300 have been rejected during the scrutiny process. Distribution seems very difficult so they decide for lottery system. Lottery system began at 9 am and will finish by 7 pm.
