MBOSE stands for Meghalaya Board of School Education. Meghalaya Board of School Education first was founded in 1974. But during 1996 the board took over Pre-University Course when the University (NEHU) stopped this course. Then the Board dealt all the financial matters of SSLC and HSSLC branch. The work load is increased because of increasing number of students per year. After 1996, all the academic matters related with framing of syllabus for all the classes such as SSLC and HSSLC are handled by the Board. The Board was opened by the Honourable Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Late Captain W. A. Sangma on 19th October, 1973 in the State Central Library Auditorium, Shillong. Result booklet will be available in the Board offices at Tura and Shillong.
