BREAKING NEWS - An earthquake has hit Los Angeles today, centered at Lennox, CA. The Lennox May 17, 2009 earthquake was at 8:39 PM PST.A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck the Los Angeles area on Sunday (May 17) at about 8:39 p.m. local time but there were no immediate reports of any serious injuries or damage.
The earthquake was felt widely across the southland because its depth was less than 1 mile below the earth’s surface. The quake was centered roughly 1 mile from Inglewood and less than 5 miles from LAX Airport.
