Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training will conduct Joint Entrance Test (JET) for Admission of Diploma Courses. The Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training 1992 Act. The Joint Entrance Test ( JET ) in institutes of Technical Education and for making admissions & conducting examinations. The main aim of the Board is to upgrade the quality of Technical Education in the State of Punjab.  

The Joint Entrance Test ( JET ) 2009 will be held on 30th May, 2009 from 10:00am to 1:00pm. This prospectus gives detailed information relating to the procedures and other conditions for JET-2009 and Admissions.

Joint Entrance Test (JET) 2009 Syllabus:

The syllabus for this test is broadly based upon the syllabus prescribed for Matriculation Examination (i.e. 9th and 10th classes) of Punjab School Education Board. Subject wise details of syllabus for JET-2009 are given in part-II of the Prospectus.

Examination Scheme:

• JET-2009 will have one paper of 200 questions (English-25, Aptitude-25, Mathematics- 50, Physics-50, Chemistry-50).
• The unit wise allocation of marks is given along with syllabus. The question paper will be printed both in English and Punjabi.
• The question paper will have multiple choice objective type questions only.
• There will be negative marking in the JET @ 25% for each incorrect response.
• The objective type questions shall be answered on a preprinted Optical Mark Reader answer sheet.
• The candidate is required to mark his/her responses as per instructions given on the OMR answer sheet.

Application Fee:

• General Candidates (other than SC/ST): Rs. 520/-
• SC and ST Candidates: Rs. 260/-

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates should have passed the Matriculation or equivalent examination in Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and English. Provided that a candidate who has appeared for the qualifying examination but whose result has not been declared shall be admitted provisionally to the Joint Entrance Test but his/her candidature shall be canceled if he/she fails to qualify in the examination or fails to produce the proof of his having qualified at the time of counselling. Such candidates will have no claim,whatsoever, with regard to the admission to any course.

Candidates have to buy the prospectus-cum-Application form from:
1. The Counter of the office of the Board or designated branches of Punjab National Bank or Institutions: Rs. 250.
2. By Post with demand draft (to be received at the office of the Board at least 10 days before the closing date): Rs. 300.

Submission Of Application Form:

The examination fee should be paid in cash @ Rs. 520/- (for General and other categories) and Rs. 260/- (for SC/ST) along with the application form in one of the bank branches of Punjab National Bank. Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training" payable at "Chandigarh". However, candidates are advised to submit the forms at the bank branches and get the required acknowledgment. Candidates are advised to deposit the Application Form preferably at the Banks.
