Indian National Flag is in tricolor; so it is called as “TIRANGA” the colors of the flag are deep saffron (kesaria) at the top, white in the middle and dark green at the bottom. The Indian National flag is a horizontal tricolor in equal proportion. Their ratio of the width to length is two is to three (2:3). In the middle of the white color band a wheel in navy blue color is situated. This wheel is also called “Dharma chakra” and it has 24 spokes. Dark green means the relationship to the soil. This color stands for faith and fertility. Green color indicates our relation to the plant life here, on which all other life depends. A chakra which is situated in the middle of the white band indicates Dharma, called Dharma chakra indicates Truth or satya, dharma or virtue ought to be the controlling principle of those who work under this flag. It has 24 spokes, which indicates the hour of the day. The chakra intends to show that there is life in movement and death in stagnation.
