First Night Of Hanukkah Review 2008

The first night of Hanukkah is December 21 celebrated lighting the first candle on the menorah in the dark and singing Hanukkah blessings. Two hundred years before Christ, the Maccabees were a band of rebels into the mountains to fight Rome.

They won their battle, but in the battle, the temple was destroyed. The Jewish people has worked to restore and rebuild their temple and when their work is completed, the lighting a menorah (one of the cheap materials, because the Syrians had stolen and a gold) for the temple of God. It is, however, only enough oil to burn the light for one day. The process to make more oil would be eight days. Miraculously, the oil meant for one day lasted eight days.
