ELAT English Literature Admissions Test Home The ELAT is a pre-interview admissions test for applicants to undergraduate courses in English at the University of Oxford. The test is designed to enable applicants to show their ability in the key skill of close reading, paying attention to such elements as the language, imagery, allusion, syntax, form and structure of the passages set for comment. From 2009 paper results will no longer be issued, candidates and centers will be able to download their results using our online results extra net. Information about how to retrieve results will be provided to centers and candidates at the time of the test. ELAT Registration All ELAT entries must be made by the test centre administering the ELAT. Candidates currently attending a school or college should approach their Examinations Officer to find out if their school is willing to administer ELAT for them. Candidates not attending a school or college should find an open centre. Candidates should discuss ELAT costs with their center as some center may charge an administration fee on top of the entry fees.
