CAT Entrance exam for IIMs to be held again written test format if sources are to be believed. It may be noted that Common Admission Test of IIMs in the Online format has been under criticism this year due to various issues. Many candidates could not take exams due to virus, server connectivity, unavailability, untrained invigilators. According to reports as many as 10000 exams are rescheduled. The Prometric – body which is conducting the online exam is under severe criticism. Prometric was even accused of selling the database of candidates to private coaching centers.

There is rumor aroud that IIM directors want to declares exams till date null and void and conduct a nationwide test for CAT on 10th of January. They want to take a decision fast before Ministry of Education (read Shri Kapil Sibal) force them to do. The CAT issue has already been discussed in parliament and it might come up again after the Ram Mandir issue is out.
