100 Best Universities of World in 2014

In the Times Higher Education’s reputation ranking of worldwide universities for 2014, Harvard University is at the top, with Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University ranking second and third respectively.

Education is one of the few sectors that remain unaffected by global financial upheavals, and also it is a top priority for parents, particularly higher education no matter whatever is the cost. As now the world has become smaller, no country is very far for a student to reach at the best university to study. Take a look here at the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2014, which utilizes the world's primary invitation-only academic opinion survey to give the best list of the top 100 universities of world in 2014. Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts has once again topped the list, with US institutions taking 8 of the top 10 places.

The top 20 spots are taken by the universities from U.S., U.K., Japan, Canada and Switzerland. Largely, American universities have 46 of the best 100 universities, and the United Kingdom follows behind with 10 of the best 100. Moreover, the rankings even emphasize a huge upgrading for Germany with 6 universities listed in the top 100 – the third highest representation in the list after the US and the UK. The 4 Indian institutes that made it to the list last year have made a return this year also, although at lower places.
