US must reassure Pakistan about India, says official

WASHINGTON: Pakistan's defense posture was still focused on conventional military conflict, traditional, not only the insurgency in India, the most senior Pentagon official says U.S. must convince Islamabad, beware relationships increasingly India-United States.

"Although the attacks of extremists led to a repositioning of the important forces in Pakistan's strategic concerns about India, Pakistan remains overwhelming, Michele Flournoy, Assistant Secretary for Policy Department of Defense, told the House Armed Forces Committee on Thursday.
