The Priyadarshini Mattoo Case

The Delhi High Court awarded the death verdict today for Santosh Kumar Singh, who was convict of rape and murder of a 23-year-old Delhi University law student Priyadarshini Mattoo, 23 January 1996.

Priyadarshini Mattoo, a law student at the Campus Law Centre of Delhi University, was raped and strangled to death on the evening of 23 January 1996 at her residence in Vasant Kunya River in South Delhi.
The decision after investigation R.K. Naseem, legal catch, and additional Solicitor-General (ASG) Amrendra Kumar Sharan for Central Bureau of exploration (CBI), a Division Bench comprising Justice RS Sodhi and Justice PK Bhasin said: "Assessment of the state of affairs in favor of and against the prisoner, we find that the infuriating state of affairs far outweigh the state of affairs in which, according to lawyer judge extenuating circumstances, even if we do not judge them to be.
