Stevie Wonder Present on Obama Celebration At White House

Pop star Stevie Wonder celebrated at the White House on 25th February 2009. President Obama has honored Stevie Wonder, his musical heroes, with the USA's highest award for pop music, at a ceremony in the White House.

Stevei Wonder was the winner of The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize, Serenade the first couple in the White House, kicking things with a version of "Sir Duke" and later Wonder classics as "not She Lovely" and "superstition".

According to a pool report from the event, Michelle Obama said the first album she ever bought was the Talking Book. The President said Wonder's songs were "soundtrack to my youth."

Obama, who called Wonder soundtrack of his youth, gave star Library of Congress' Gershwin Prize for Popular Song during an East Room Featured tributes to Tony Bennett, Martina McBride and wonder themselves.

Wonder later returned acknowledgments, describes the historical significance of Obama's rise to office and the potential it provided a more united world. The 58-year-old musical genius is performed on a number of Obama during the campaign fundraiser.

Wonder quoted Martin Luther King Jr., his faith and his mother during an acceptance speech, which was transported to a set of Obama's favorite songs. And last year, when the senator said he only really got into music after listening to Stevie classic 1970 album Talking Book, Inner Visions and songs in the Key of Life.
