President Barack Obama arrived in Cairo today for a speech. Assistant said Obama’s long-promised speech to a vast, electronically linked-in global audience would blend hopeful words about mutual understanding with carefully chosen language on Iraq, Afghanistan and the Israeli-Palestinian standoff and he also talk about the need for Muslims to embrace democracy, women's rights and economic opportunity.

Obama suggest the historical situation to the current "tension" between the the US and the Muslim world. Obama says he is in Cairo to look for a "new starting". Human history, Obama says, is a record of self-interest, but not anymore. We are now in an era of interdependence, "our progress must be shared". Yet there's steel here: "we must face these tensions squarely". He's warmed up.
He says, “America and Islam are not exclusive, they share common principles. Warm clapping for the president when he promises to fight the negative typecasts of Islam.
Obama promises to not be held hostage by the policies and actions of his instant predecessor. “Whatever we think of the past we must not be prisoners to it, our problems must be dealt with by partnerships, our progress must be shared."
Obama is to outline the key issues in the region. Issue number one: Violent extremism in all its forms; America is not at war with Islam but will fight to the last to protect the American people.
