NY police confirm car bomb caused Times Sq. evacuation

The New York Police section said Saturday that the event that caused the Times four-sided figure to be evacuated was what appeared to be a car bomb that was settled by the officers at the scene.

"This seems to be a car bomb, the bomb squad are in the process of dismantle," the police spokesman Paul Browne said. "We do not know the subject."

Browne said an NYPD mounted police discovered a box of smoking on the rear of Sport Utility vehicles, and that the area was evacuate shortly after that.
