Helen Thomas and Obama Press Conference Video
Helen Thomas is 80 years old journalist though she does not stop her from being in the White House for Press conference. Helen Thomas was the first to ask questions to President Obama at Obama’s first prime-time White House press conference on Tuesday, June 23rd 2009.
Obama told Helen Thomas to pipe down when she asked strange questions. Thomas asked the question about the people on the ground who have been saying that the streets are quieter now because they feel that they are paralyzed by fear and if Obama had any concern about it. Obama replied positively that he was obviously concern about peaceful demonstrators and people who want their votes counted may be stifled from expressing those concerns. He also told that there are certain international norms of freedom of speech and freedom of expression.
Thomas last question to Obama was about the photos. Obama originally planned to allow to surface showing abuses of prisoners at the hands of the US military. President suddenly cut off her remarks by telling that hold for a second as it was a different question he was just making laughter by answering this way to Thomas.
