CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry is New Chief Justice of Pakistan

CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry is New Chief Justice of Pakistan after Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar retirement on March 21. Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani announced Monday that restore the deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.

Prime minister Yousuf Raza gilani announced the Iftikhar Chaudhry the new chief justice of Pakistan. The Prime Minister said that it was not possible to reinstate Chaudhry while Dogar still in office as a judge. He reminded that former prime minister Benazir Bhutto had also fought for the reinstatement of sacked judges and the Pakistan People's Party and the government wanted the restoration.

The Prime Minister said that after consultations with all political forces in the country and President Asif Ali Zardari, the government has decided to restore all judges including Justice marketed Iftikahr Muhammad Chaudhry as a judge in Pakistan, who will take responsibility from March 21.

The Pakistan government has decided to reinstate deposed Pakistan chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry. There is wide-spread early morning jubilation and Pakistanis are celebrating the rise of a new Pakistan…Pakistan Zindabad.
