Christie is the Winner of Governor Republican nomination
Former United States attorney Chris Christie captured the New Jersey Republican gubernatorial nomination Tuesday night. Christie, 46, of Mendham, Morris County, will attempt to become the first Republican elected in a statewide race since 1997.
Both Lonegan, the 53-year-old former mayor of Bogota, and Christie romanced conservative voters, but in the end the pragmatists in the GOP decided Christie was the best choice to face Corzine. Chris
Christie Wins almost three-fourths of the vote and defeating former Bogota mayor Steve Lonegan.
