I found this thread the same way. The comments make me sad actually. I'm frustrated by the white folks who continue with the comments that are just meant to incite anger. Celebrating heritage and culture is a wonderful thing. We are all different and that is not bad, in and of itself. But to continue the anger simply based on race is not well reasoned. How do we change this thinking all the way around?

I don't think the phrase "White Pride" is necessarily racist but but because comments such as those on this page, ie "black people get off your lazy ass and work" still exist it's negative stigma won't go away as people still relate it to racism.
If everyone were to accept and respect everyone's own cultures and differences, the phrase "White/black/hispanic etc pride" would not be a problem because it wouldn't be seen as a threat. Pride should not imply inferiority.

I guess a Caucasian club is viewed as racist because Minority clubs are.. for the minorities. They can help welcome a minority group into the society and give them a sense of acceptance in a way society might not necessarily do. If a group of lets say, Spanish people were to set up a minority group in Africa, which is predominantly black, a black pride group can be taken as a retaliation.. as they are not the minority.
Every time ignorant or racist comments are made by anyone these just reverse the efforts of people who are trying their best to show everyone is equal and show the necessity of things such as black history month to show every group is appreciated.

white is not a nationality, so there would be no "white" club. There are Irish, English, Italian (as well as many others) pride groups, t-shirts, festivals and the like. But to say you have "white pride" is abit off setting since there is no country of white.

First let me say that President Obama as he should be addressed, did not receive a free education, because no education is free. When you attend school you have to earn grades they are not given to you. No matter what school you attend, a person have to have that determination to succeed, it's not where you come from in this life it's where you're going.

I am curious but why is it Whites are the only racists. For instance if a Black man shouts Black Pride he is not a racist but a White man who shouts White Pride is. A few years back a buddy of mine and i were in school and they had all the minority clubs and we thought it was weird because there wasnt one for us. Well we tried to get one going and the councilor starts are African American, Hispanic American, Asian American, Native American, or any \thing that i may have looked over no we said we are Caucasian mam. WE got suspended for 2 weeks for being you guessed it RACIST. Why are there all Black scholarships but no White. All Black Colleges but no White, there is a month dedicated to African Americans but there not a day to Whites? Minoritys claim to want equality but how is that equal?

You speak of South Africa and BET and WET. I am a white South African and the truth is there are no such things for whites and anything white is considered racist. However we DO have such things as BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) ABJ (Association for Black Journalists) BEA (Black Enterpreneurs Association) and many many others, too many to even mention. These are all encouraged and backed by the government. Yet, if our national sports teams have more whites than blacks (regardless of performance merit) the government will force coaches of such teams to include more blacks even if they are not good enough for the team. When applying for a job, many whites are turned away simply because they are white. They would rather employ a black person even if that person is not qualified for the job. Companies are FORCED by government to employ more blacks than whites regardless of qualifications. Want to talk about racism .... it is very much alive in South Africa, the black government even encourages it !

If this was say.. South Africa where the majority is Black and the minority is White, and the tv was dominated by "Black based" shows, written, directed, acted, produced, etc by Blacks, and Whites made a WET then there is nothing wrong with that, as there would also be a market and interest for WET, and as we all know if there is a market then there is money to be made.
