Washington subsidizing COBRA

The federal stimulus package is making it easier for laid off workers to keep their health insurance.
Normally when workers lose their job, they can keep their health insurance through their former employer under COBRA coverage. However, the employer no longer pays anything towards the coverage. Many laid off workers soon learn they can no longer afford to have health insurance when forced to pay 100 percent of the cost.
