The US Open Tennis weather did not cooperate with the tournament for much of the day but it cleared a little for a while to give way for Rafael Nadal's win over Chile's Fernando Gonzalez, bringing Nadal at last into the semifinals this afternoon, with scores 7-6 (4), 7-6 (2), 6-0.
