US hikers held in Iran allowed to call family

Today us news :Three US hikers being detained in Iran for entering the country illegally were allowed to phone their families for the first time since their arrest, their supporters said Wednesday. New York-based support group "Free the Hikers" said Iranian authorities have allowed Shane Bauer, Sarah Shourd and Josh Fattal to speak to their parents by telephone for the first time since they were detained more than seven months ago.
It was the tremendous relief to hear their voices at last and know that Shane, Sarah and Josh are keeping well and staying strong, said a joint statement from the families released by the group.
