Tata Water Purifier - The Tata Swach Water Filter for rural poor launched

Tata Group, the Indian industrial company has launched a new Tata Water Purifier known as The Tata Swach (named after the Hindi for "clean") Water Filter especially for rural poor people. Tata Water Purifier is made by the company to help and save the lives of millions of people who pass away every year of waterborne diseases.

The Tata Swach Water Filter is deliberated to be used in poor, rural households that have no electricity or running water, using ash from rice milling to filter out bacteria. It is less than one meter tall, meets U.S. Environmental Protection Agency standards, and does not require running water, electricity, or boiling.

Tata says that the device is the outcome of a decade of research and development. Tata Water Purifier is the most recent in a series of Tata projects such as the ultra-cheap Nano car and affordable Tata apartments – that target a lower income rural market though many companies have ignored.

About Tata Swach water purifier:

The new TataSwach water purifier can purify up to 3000 litres of water subsequent to which the cartridge stops water flow and gives the user sufficient lead time for cartridge replacement. It has used innovative technology that filters bacteria and viruses to provide store safe water. It is convenient to use and built around a bulb-like water purifier made of natural elements such as rice husk ash impregnated with nano-silver particles. The cartridge bulb is packed with a purification medium which has the ability to kill bacteria and disease-causing organisms.

The Tata Swach Water Filter price:

One of the best things about Tata Water Purifier is its price. It comes with lowest price than no other purifier is available in the market so that most of the people can buy it easily. According to one Indian report, it will cost below 1,000 rupees ($21.50; £13). The purifier will cost Rs.749 and its Catridge with cleaning material will cost Rs.299.
